We live in Greece and have been motorcycling throughout the country for many years. In 1994, as the Triumph Distributor of Greece, Michael Stagonakis started Triumph Bike Tours to show Greeks in rural areas the new Hinkley Triumphs, and to show this wonderful country to other bikers. The beauty and spectacular scenery has not changed. The only change is in the newly paved minor roads giving access to more and more magnificent places. With over 14 years of touring, we have the expertise and the experience show you places in Greece you would never find on your own or with any other tour operators. Tour with us on a modern Triumph, with small, friendly groups (9 bikes max), with a very experienced lead rider and the chase van always nearby. Scroll down for 2009 dates. Or, if you prefer to travel alone, you'll love a Lone Ranger self guide tour using a Triumph motorbike (or car), with the comprehensive route book, hotels, mobile phone and all assistance throughout the tour. | The tours of Greece
are designed for those who enjoy both smooth, straight roads and wonderful
winding mountain passes. The routes, which are all paved, take minor
roads where possible, are mostly traffic free and take you through some
of the most fantastic scenery you'll ever see. The Peloponnese (South)
has many so places to visit that no extra rest stops are needed. The
North has less sites but even more wonderful riding and spectacular
panoramas. Thanks to EU funding, new roads are continuously being built,
and each year we find superb alternatives that are known to few. If
you join one of our tours, you will know more about Greece than the
Greeks! The tours include: bed and breakfast at charming hotels; airport
transfer to an A class hotel right by the Acropolis in Athens and transfer
on the last night to an A class seaside hotel with a pools and spa;
motorbike rental and insurance; a guide/mechanic lead rider and back-up
vehicle for your luggage. There are tours open to all and dates available
for groups of friends who wish to ride together. Join us!
Lone Rangers, with the detailed route book & the same hotels, can go anytime subject to bike availabilty. Motorbikes, cars, jeeps & minibuses are available for self guide or individual rental. Triumphs are not available for individual rental outside the Guided or Self-guide Tours. Scroll down for comments from some participants. Contact: Deb Stagonakis tritour@otenet.gr

The Peloponnese Tour, 8 days / 9 nights |
|||||||||||||
The Peloponnese Tour takes you to the most
beautiful part of Southern Greece with so many ancient archeological
sites to visit; Epidavros theatre, Mycenae, Monemvassia, Ancient Messini,
Olympia and many more lesser known but equally wonderful places. We have
lunches by the sea or in pretty mountain villages. Spend your evenings strolling in the attractive
villages, eating at great taverns and staying at carefully chosen hotels,
all en suite with a/c, pools or/and beach. The traffic-free roads range
from wide to winding and mountainous, all paved and taking you through
glorious scenery. At the southernmost part, we stay in a tiny fishing
village in the Mani, which contrasts superbly to the hotel on a cliff
overlooking Navarino Bay in Pilos the next day. We ride to places so
untouched by tourism that you can go for miles without seeing any traffic
at all. The Triumphs are perfect for the terrain with wide comfortable
seats to please the passenger, very manoeuverable for the winding parts
and with plenty of power for the fast stretches. There are two 2 day
stops with optional loop rides. (1500 km. aprox.)
Hotel or self guide arrangements can be made for extra days in Greece before or after the tour.

The Alexandrian Tour takes you to the splendid Northern Greece. There are less ancient sites in the north but even more wonderful riding in alpine settings and spectacular areas such as Meteora. We stay in Delphi; ride the coastal route to the island of Levkada (connected to the mainland by a bridge); stay in Ioannina and visit the quaint cobbled village built on an island on the lake and housing the tiny Ali Pasha museum ; Vikos Gorge and Kastoria; loop ride to Prespa on the Albanian border; the incredible monasteries of Meteora, and ride back via the beautiful northern part of Evia. There is one 2 day stop with an optional loop ride.(1700 km. aprox.) Hotel or self guide arrangements can be made for extra days in Greece before or after the tour. Some comments: Our tours are not just for tough motorcyclists! Erudite academics with a keen desire to see for themselves and learn even more, Ellen Quandahl, Larry Wheeler and Steve & Cherry Barney, who (to my shame!) know much more than I do about Ancient Greece, took a car and had a great time when they came in March/ April this year. They wrote: "Deb Stagonakis, of Triumph Bike Tours, is a fabulous organizer. On our Peloponnese tour, we covered more ground, on more interesting roads, and saw more fascinating sites than we would have found on our own. The routes were beautifully mapped, and the roads took us through truly breathtaking and richly varied country. We fell in love with Greece, and are hard-pressed to say which is best among our many favorite sites. The landscape is gorgeous and the ancient sites are truly moving. We were there in the spring, when wildflowers and greenery were a great bonus. The hotels were terrific. They ranged from simple to elegant, and each had real character. All were scrupulously clean, and the breakfasts set us up for each day's travel. The proprietors were friendly and helpful. Every restaurant and taverna that Deb recommended was a winner. Each time we look at our pictures, we are reminded that this was among the best trips we've ever done. Ellen Quandahl and Larry Wheeler Irvine, California By bike. The Peloponessus Tour was a truly wonderful experience. The riding, scenery and meals were superb. Accommodations at the end of the day always comfy and cozy. You combine rare qualities of being an outstanding motorcycle/tour operator and also a warm and caring friend. I've become a confirmed Hellenist, eagerly looking forward to my next visit. It's not "all Greek to me" any more. Peloponnese Tour. Frank Campbell. Seminole, FL, USA Thank you for such an incredible adventure! Debbie Sherman "For a long time, I had wanted to try a Triumph Tiger and we couldn't have found a better place to ride - Greece has great twisty roads, beautiful scenery and so many interesting castles, temples and ancient sites to visit. The people are really friendly and welcome bikers. The accommodation was excellent too - friendly places with character everywhere we stayed. We went on our own, not with a group, but with Deb's well-detailed route book we had no problems finding our way around. The highlight of our tour was Meteora, spectacular monasteries perched on top of towering rocks - the only low point was that Deb wouldn't let us take the Tiger home with us when we had to leave!" Neil and Michelle Anderson. "Deb took care of everything that could have possibly come up... Every stop featured outstanding scenery, kind people and excellent accommodations... A wonderful mix of standard tourist stops and quaint local favorites... We've told all of our rider friends - Triumph Bike Tours is definitely the way to see a broad cross section of a fantastically beautiful country... Deb was a wonderful resource during the entire process; she answered all of our questions (some of them were quite naive!), and helped put us at ease...".John and Jackie Kern of Seattle "Pam and I had a wonderful time from start to finish and have been telling everyone how well thought out and executed the tour was - a bargain at twice the price." The Peloponnese Tour. Mike and Pam Krebs From Mike and Debbie Stuart, The Rambles Hotel, Bristol UK: www.therambleshotel.co.uk ".....we travelled round Northern Greece on various Triumphs such as Adventurers and a Tiger. The scenery was just awesome, the people, the hotels; in fact everything was fantastic. I believe, along with other fellow bikers, that the only reason this could be so is because of the professional way in which Deborah had organised it. The lead rider was a very skilled rider and watched over us with great care but also gave us unforgettable rides through Greece.......a wonderful and memorable holiday; the other bikers on this trip and ourselves can't wait to go back next year to do the Peloponnese. It was a REAL BIKERS' holiday." The Rat Alexandrian Tour. From Arthur and Jackie Boyle, South Africa: " Northern Greece in May was magnificent: some of the best riding country in the world with great roads in terrific scenery. A really different way to see Greece, with all arrangements taken care of by a truly friendly organisation." John Miley California: "The seven of us were pleased beyond any expectations. Your planning and execution are that of a TRUE professional. The route, lodging, meals right down to the therapeutic bath make memories that will endure. Any one could show us the country side but we are of the belief that you make the whole event special and unique. We will be back for another one of your trips. For my self, the added effort you put into the arrangements for my excursion to Rome were precise and for such a short duration were also enjoyable". Excerpts from an article written by Chris and Paula Overholtzer who toured in Greece in June & July 2006 You have the right to go to the front of the line at every stoplight. You have the right to park on the sidewalk or anywhere else you choose. You have the respect of ALL the other vehicles on the road. And most of the roads are motorcycle heaven. THIS is motorcycling in Greece. The problem here may be to convince the reader that this article is not sponsored by Triumph Bike Tours of Greece. My wife, Paula, and I spent a total of 16 days touring mainland Greece this summer, the first 8 days being with a guided tour in the north, and the second 8 as lone rangers in the Peloponnese. Deborah and Michael Stagonakis, the organizer and lead rider, respectively, did a phenomenal job of balancing distance, tourism, history, and riding styles. In any group, personality differences make for variety, and the fact that our group had only 7 bikes, including Michael, didnt change that a bit. We had people who would have loved to ride much faster and farther, who would have liked to see more historical sites, who would have sunbathed a bit more, eaten better, drank more (or less)...on and on. We had balance, perfect only for those who expect to enjoy whatever comes. Our group did. Our bike was a 900 Adventurer, our lone female rider on an 800 Bonne, 2 Tigers, a Sprint, a Thunderbird, Michael on a Daytona Special and Deborah in a Peugot mini-van with the luggage and pulling a back-up bike (which was never needed). Two couples hailed from South Africa. One couple was from Australia(on two bikes). A Wisconsinite and we Washington staters rounded out the troupe. We studied Greece in great detail before the trip and found that nearly all the highlights we would have chosen to visit were included in our tours. It would take a long time to describe all the archeological sites we visited, all the villages we passed through, and the people we met. All things considered, we think that Triumph Bike Tours offers a wonderfully varied experience, the convenience of pre-booked hotels, and great machines at a super price. Any questions? chrisover@centurytel.net By Car We are back safely and I wanted to say a final thank-you for all the planning and trouble in making our trip happen. As we said when we talked to you in Mati, it far surpassed our expectations. We loved the way you routed it, so that the destinations kept gettting better and better. Rod Morse From Peter and Vasiliki Sotiriou, California to Matt Barret www.greecetravel.com My family and I just got back from Greece in mid-July. I just wanted to thank you for the tip about Triumph Bike/Car Tours. I was thrilled when I read that the tour could be done by car as well as by motorbike. The four of us had a great time on the Agamemnon Tour of Greece. Deborah Stagonakis has set-up a wonderful tour of northern and southern Greece with breathtaking stops, great hotels, and lots of great suggestions. We have been to Greece many times and saw places we had never seen before. Deborah is so helpful and very professional. She did so many things above and beyond simply setting up our tour. She would even call us at our hotel to check up on us. I cannot say enough nice things about her tour or about the lady herself. I highly recommend this tour. It is a wonderful way for a family to see village life, monasteries, ruins, beaches, and all those things that make Greece so unique. We cannot stop talking about our tour. Vasiliki Sotiriou. Many, many thanks for your kind words, everyone. I'm so happy when people enjoy themselves in the real Greece! Deb All the above tours include motorbike/car hire, the
best hotels in the area (b/b and some dinners included),
insurance, lead rider and chase vehicle plus the most
charming hotels and scenery you could wish for. 250 euro
reservation deposit secures a place on the tour of your
choice. Or let us show you the best routes and hotels to enjoy the best of Greece by yourselves. |
